okay. i have a 4.0 and am in pre ap and ap classes and am going to be a senior this year. this past year i on the act, the first time i took it, i got a 25. the second time i took it i got a 23...

and on my psat i got a 174. so that means i'll get a 1740 ish on the sat, right?

okay and so on my english ap exam i got a 2! what the heck? i thought i did well on that and it turns out i got a 2? i just don't get it. i did fine in that class and i tried hard. and i've always been a decent writer. i thought.

i am just so confused. i really want a scholarship because my parents are kind of poor and i don't want to go to a college in my state (oklafreakinghoma).

so what do i do? is it possible to raise my act score by like 6 points and get a 31? would that get me a scholarship to somewhere like ku?

i need some encouragement!!!!!

  1. no. your not stupid... your just not very good at standardized testing.  it'll be fine.  there's plenty of cheap schools here in georgia (not that it's much better than oklahoma, but it isn't oklahoma) that would accept you with those scores, ga state, ga southern, valdosta state (i think) and you might get a scholarship....  you'll probably get into ku with those scores (the 25) but i don't think you'll get a scholarship... yes it is very possible to raise your score and that would certainly help in getting a scholarship taking ALOT of practice tests, i had to take seven... and try the SAT, many do well on one or the other

fastweb.com (i think is the website) leads you to a lot of different scholarships

yeah i was in oklahoma the week before last... not much there.... at all...

  2. NO. A 25 or 23 is still above the average of 20/21. A 1740 is above the average of 1500. And with the English AP test, I know plenty of people who made 2s on the test who feel the same way--that they deserved a higher score. The average on the English test (I'm assuming lang/comp) is a 3, and for all you know, you might be half a point away from a 3. It'll be fine and you still look like a strong candidate to schools.

  3. im sorry but an ACT 25 really means nothing to scholarship people. i would say 1740 is decent for getting into a public college, with some fianicial aid package. but NOT a scholarship. I hope that you're either hispanic or african american because those 2 groups tend to have more lenient scholarship packages (some scholarships are awarded to hispanic people with one natural blue eye. crazy). But if you're white, then don't rely on it. i would say MINIMUM 1850 on SAT. but maybe your parents work companies give out scholarships to children of employees. I got a 31 on ACT first time and 2120 on SAT, but unluckily, i'm asian, so not much hope considering my competition. your AP tests give college credit, depend on the school you will go to. getting a poor score just means that you won't get the credit for that class. GPA is sometimes very inconsistent, some people come from competitive big schools, some rural schools. getting 4.0 means that your school either is not competitive or you're willing to learn but didn't get a good AP english teacher. Out of state schools will def be more expensive, maybe try staying in OK but go to a far city for schooling.
