  1. ok message to school nurse:

i see where ur going with this

but its not that bad, idk why he is making it sound so bad :/

yes i am his gf, and u have a good point, some of those suggestions are helpful. he has a hard time remembering things, that can get annoying sometimes, but i can deal :] and being orgonized, his family isnt the most orgonized family :/ so i see where he gets it from. lol now i sound like im answering his question. hehe

but he just forgets to take his pill, and its only some days when he really gets annoying, when he had enough sleep and is bored all day lol

usually he is playing baseball, hes got his whole life put into it.

so yea just saying thanks and filling u in on more of whats going on in his life :/ lol this was suuupooosed to be a quick note. hah guess not.

  2. Find something you really enjoy and make a hobby out of it....Stay away from soda and chocolate  I'm sure you've heard that one before . Good Luck My daughter has ADHD also so I understand

  3. Stay on your meds. If they alone are not working let your neurologist know. You may benefit from a higher dose or a different medication. Also therapy combined with the medication may help. I have a 17 year old daughter with ADHD and God BLess her boy friend !

  4. omg i totaly hear you!! my friends couldent stand me until i went on medication. find the medication that works for you and that you feel comfortable taking. once you take it you start learning the social ques and what you need to do in order to be a calmer person.

  5. The medicines should help a lot.  If not, talk to your doctor about adjusting your dose or changing meds.  If the meds are working OK you may just need to break some bad habits developed when your were off your meds.

Here are a few tips in avoiding annoying people:

    1. Realize that silence is OK.  You don't have to be talking all the time and you don't have to fill the silence.

    2. Keep your hands to yourself.  ADHD people tend to invade other peoples space. Poking and teasing are fun BRIEFLY.  Know when to quit.

3.Don't touch things that belong to other people without asking...they don't like it--even if you are teasing.

    4. Try to read what other people are feeling.  If they are not enjoying your antics, back off and chill for awhile.  People with ADHD have a hard time taking social cues.

5  Try to limit teasing.  Too much is TOO MUCH.

    6. Ask your friends and/or girlfriend to give you a signal (or tell you) when you are getting to be "too much".  Then you will know to chill a bit.

I hope you don't think I'm just being mean but you ask for suggestions.  I don't know you or what you are having difficulties with but these suggestions are for the usual behaviors of ADHD.

On another note, did you know that Michael Phelps has ADHD.  He just won 8 gold medals in the Olympics as a swimmer.

He listens to music to help him to focus and stay calm.

Try to find an extracurricular activity that you enjoy and work hard at it.  It will help consume some of that energy in a positive way.  Find a way to cash in on your hyperactivity.  Many ADHD people have special gifts.  Find out what yours is and develope it as much as you can.

    Good Luck.
