Question:

My african violets have white fuzzy spots on the leaves. How can I get rid of them?

The plants are healthy and have always been watered from the bottom so I don't believe they're from water on the leaves; they almost look like mold spots.

  1. some of them get fuzzy leaves, I think it happens as they get older. The whole leaf will be fuzzy.

    My grandma always had one and I don't remember it's leaves NOT being fuzzy. There are different kinds of African Violets, as well

    (maybe some are fuzzy and some are not)

  2. It's probably mealy bugs. the best way to ID is with a magnifying glass. At 10x power you can usually see the critters in their full glory. If it's not a bug, chances are that you have powdery mildew. Here's a couple of links to look at. http://www.ipm.ucdavis.edu/PMG/PESTNOTES...
