  1. If the car is jolted at all, the air bag should deploy.

  2. Call honda and tell them

  3. The speed of the impact AS WELL AS the angle of impact are the criteria for deployment of airbags in cars.  Typically, speeds of ~8-14 mph or higher and impacts within 30º left or right of the direction of travel will cause deployment.  If you have had any work done within the dash of your car, such as an aftermarket stereo, the installer could have disabled the system so as not to have the bag go off in his face while working.  Then it may have never been re-connected.  Similarly, the dealer may have disabled the system for some other procedure and not have re-connected it.  These wires are yellow and are the only ones like that, so it can be checked out.  But you may have just simply slowed down enough before the crash to a speed not sufficient for deployment.

  4. probly wasnt hard enough or the car just didnt wanna protect you

  5. You may not have hit hard enough to deploy it.

If the airbag deploys at too low a speed, it can actually cause more injury to you than not having it deploy in a minor accident.

  6. depend on how hard of a hit you had if it works or not.. but having it check by a dealer would be wise

  7. Were you killed? I guess not. Airbags only deploy at a certain level of impact. When you get the car repaired,  a reputable shop will check that the airbag sensors and structure are working and are in good shape.

  8. Could be you didn't hit them hard enough to set off the airbags.  If that is not the case you do need to call Honda.

  9. You probably didn't hit them hard enough for it to deploy. Hope that helps.

  10. In most cases the airbags should have deployed in a collision 14mph and above, if slower than that the force applied to the sensor usually is not enough to set them off. If it was at that speed or above you need to have them checked for a couple different reasons. One, if you have had the car worked on at a shop they may have taken your airbags and sold them, this sometimes happens but not a very likely problem. Two the sensor could have tripped but the bags didn't deploy, which means that they can go off whenever, it's kind of like playing Russian roulette. Again it does happen but it's not that likely, although I have seen it happen. Three they just might be defective. Good luck.  Firefighter of 10+ years
