My airbag light is on after the mechanic replaced it?

  1. Possibly. Take it back to the mechanic that put the airbag in the light may just need to be reset.


  2. he may not have cleared the trouble code off for it,if he didn't the light will remain on,have him check this,if he did clear it then you probably do need a new sensor on it when those go bad they will keep the light on continuously good luck with it.

  3. it could be your clock spring in the wheel sending a false signal. it may need to be replaced.

  4. If there is a faulty clock spring the mechanic will have fun removing the front part of the steering wheel apart again. There are a few impact sensors in the front and back that can be faulty. Also most cars have a separate comp. system for the airbags that occasionally malfunctions due to a resistor going bad.  But most likely the A.B. computer was not reset or a wire is not properly connected.
