My airconditioner leaks water into the vents in the floor, i was told by a specialist?

to turn the fan on and put water in the pan and see if it comes out the pipe out side and i forgot either if the water does come out of the pipe or does not, we need to add a trap anyone know?

this question is hard to understand but all air conditioners develop condensation on the coil just like a glass of ice water gets wet on the outside of the glass. So there is a pan usually inside the unit that gathers the moisture and drains out the side or bottom of the pan through a short pipe. Then another pipe is attached to the one from the pan and ran to a plumbing drain.Either the pipe leaving the pan is plugged and the pan is overflowing into your vents or the pan is leaking or the drain simply needs to be piped over to a plumbing drain

is the coil on the bottom and blower above it that is negative flow yes you need a p-trap otherwize it sucks air and slings the water everwere but the drain
