  1. I don't think it has to do with that.

If it's a male, he's marking his teritory then.

But either way.. female or male.. they must be taught to pee in the right place since kittens..

Be meaner !! Show this cat who's the boss, and make it afraid of peeing in the wrong place. Use a stick if have to.. jus to scare it off

  2. Marking territory I suspect. Try to put a stop to it now or she will keep doing it and the smell is going to be horrendous.

  3. It could be the cat is marking its territory. It could be a bad attitude. Are they sharing a litter box? You could try putting one out for each and see if it continues. Your best bet is to seek help from your vet so he can help determine if it is a physical problem, like a urniary track infection, or something else. I had a cat that wouldn't stop spraying after we got another cat. We had to get rid of him :-(

  4. Well do the two cats get along? Do you clean the litter enough? There are just so many factors that could be causing your cat to do this.

Best bet is to take it to the vet and make sure it doesn't have a urinary track infection because that could be the reason also and it could also be a deadly reason if it has stones in its bladder.

  5. well, males do this for territory but I guess these cats are just trying to show who's boss. That's why you should never take a male cat in when you already have one because they will most probably fight and do what your cats are doing..

  6. Maybe she has a urine infection? So i would get her checked out at the vet. It could also be because she wants to mark her teritiory but it is normally male cats that are worse. Fighting playfully is normal my cats do the same. Hope this helps

  7. Sometimes when they get jelous they tend to pee on furniture.

  8. Litter box problems are sometimes a sign of illness.  So a check up with the vet is the first placed to start.  A female who has not been spayed is also more likely to have litter box problems.

Litter box problems are very frustrating for all.....human and feline.  Here's a link that you might find helpful:

  11. There are a few reasons for this. Two that I can answer to the best of my ability.

    1. Your cat is trying to claim her territory. She is saying to your other cat that she is new here, and this is now her space. She is taking over, and wants to be the cat in charge.

The second one also has to do with territorial issues but in a different manner.

    2. Your couch has several different scents on it, and she is trying to make it smell like her own by urinating on it. Clean it up with vinegar right away after shes urinated. After a few times of cleaning it up with vinegar, her scent will be removed from the couch and she should be just fine. With out urinating on the couch ;)

    Good Luck!

    Hope this helped

  12.    Normally, when cats of that age and older urinate ANYWHERE outside the litter box,  it is the cat expressing their considered opinion about something that has them upset.  This can be any environmental stressor, a change of food/feeding habits, moving to another abode, or additional animals brought into the home.  However, in extreme cases, it may signal a urinary tract issue(s).  The fact that you say the two cats usually get along probably indicates that it is not the other kitty's presence.  Also, your kitty is urinating on the furniture, which definitely sound like the statement of a disgruntled feline.  She's trying to tell you something in the only way she knows how:  by being obnoxious.  My own little female started urinating/defecating in my baskets of clean laundry last year.  Try spending a little extra attention on her and be observant.  Try different tactics until you hit on the one that settles her down.  In my cat's case, she was pissed off about the new "high-tech" litter box I bought her and wouldn't use it at all.  We went back to the good old plain kind and the potty problems went away like magic.  Good luck and God bless to you both.

  13. This sounds like your cats are both competing for the same area where they live by marking out their territory by spraying everything in sight so as to leave their scent to let other cats know that this is their territory, the best solution is to have the both cats neutered, this will have three effects on the cats, the first one is they will stop spraying everything in sight and the second is they wont wonder very far from home and the third is they will both be more loving towards you,

once this is done your home wont start to smell like a urinal.

I have a male cat and this is what happened to me, but once he was neutered the spraying stopped and became very loving towards me.

    good luck with this.

  14. Urinating outside of the litter box is the first (and most common) sign of urinary tract infection.  Schedule a vet apt.
