My almost 4 month old is very irritable?

hi everyone, i am a first time mom and my little guy will be 4 on the 29th, he has been very irritable during the day since about 2 weeks, he is drooling alot and his hands are always in his mouth but i do not see any sign of teething( swollen gums), what can this be any help please? he always wants to be held...

  1. Those are signs of teething.  Even if you don't SEE any teeth or swollen gums.

    Try some Teething Tablets.  At Walgreens, in the aisle with the baby care stuff.


  2. He could still be teething even though there is no sign of swollen gums. My daughter is exactly the same and she is also 4 months old. She dribbles a lot and always has done. She is also very irritable. About 4 weeks ago she was diagnosed with reflux and i was told that dribbling is a symptom of reflux (not the most common symptom) But if your baby isn't spitting up at each feeding, seems uncomfortable whilst feeding and cries a lot then it probably is just the teething. Ways to ease it are teething gels, cool teething pads or even try a chilled rubber weaning spoon.
