My almost 80yr old step grandma wants to go do stuff today that I don't wanna do?

Ok she's like 80 and she grew up in Italy ad then moved to new york so she's got an interesting accent. It pisses my mom off b/c when she comes to visit she tries to re-organize the whole house. She can barely walk around but she wants to go visit the governor's mansion and do a tour?...ahem...BORING! She can't physically sit still she feels like she has to be doing something. How can I get her to just relax?

She is 80, and she may not be here much longer, you and your mother need to lose the attitude and think about her. Sometimes it is important to take time out of your life to do somethign you do not want to do in order to make someone else happy, this is one of those times.

Your grandmother is a grown woman who apparently knows exactly what she wants. Out of respect, you should go with her and keep your thoughts to yourself. And if you don't like the advice that a bunch of strangers who don't know you or your situation are giving you, then why are you putting your personal business on Yahoo Answers. I think you just can't keep up with her and are embarressed that a 80yr old grandmother has more going on than you.

if it is really getting to you then buy her a cheap holiday for a week or two even if it the most randomist thing. And if she says oh darling its not really my thing or somink lyk tht then act and say oh I spent ages saving up for It with mum to give you a break. any grandmas have a soft side. Keep acting like that and I f you can do this it would b great - shed a tear and say you dont have to go but it would be nice then run to your room. It will work a treat.

I have had relatives like that and trust me, you will miss them when they're gone.  Will you just want to sit around and wait for death when you're 80?  I won't.
