My aloe plant has a greenish-yellow mushroom growing in its pot. what is it and why is it there?

  1. It's there because the soil temperature was just right to produce fungus (wet and cool).  It doesn't mean there is anything wrong with your plant.  Just pull out the mushroom.  

    If you want to be safe (since I have no idea what kind of mushroom that is, probably not harmful) wear gloves.


  2. Most potting soils have compost & other good additives in them. Mushrooms grow from rotting wood. Do remove it & try to be careful not to let spores fall from under the cap, promoting more mushrooms.

  3. Let me know when it starts to hallucinate.
