It's kept on the kitchen windowsill where it is quite bright. I water it infrequently as recommended but it's not looking well at all. Do you think it needs repotting into a bigger pot? please help I don't want to kill it off!

  1. probably needs fresh air. ^_^

  2. They don't need all that sunlight. Take it out of the window and place it in a less sunny area such as the bathroom or on a desk. Only water when the soil up to your first knuckle is dry.

  3. It just sounds like too much light.  Mine are outside but they get mainly shade, just sun in the morning and at sunset.  Try moving it to lower light and give it a few weeks.

  4. I keep mine in a conservatory, so no problem with light.  I would suggest you re-pot the plant, splitting it into pieces, and only potting the pieces that are green and healthy looking.

Also, when you report, you should see some new shoots emerging in the soil, this will indicate your plant is healthy and well worth the effort of saving.

Also, I always stand my plant in a plant saucer and water by way of putting the water in the saucer and letting the plant take up what it needs.  After a few hours, pour away any excess water.  See Tip No. 9 given on the site below, it is really helpful.

Hope this helps.  best of luck.

  5. Sorry don't know why. Mine did that and I thought they died and threw them away.

  6. It seems that the Aloe vera plant is receiving too much sunlight. It would also be worthwhile using a more quality potting mix.
