Question:

My alpine stereo system is XM ready ???

I bought a car that came with an Alpine stereo system (the car and stereo were used). I did not get a owner's manuel for the stereo but on the stereo it says XM ready. I already have an xm set up in the old car with a station for the house and a subscription to xm. What does it mean that the stereo is xm ready and what do I need to get the xm radio on my new stereo ?

  1. that means there are xm units for the alpine system so you have to purchase one of them and hook it to the alpine system and can control the xm through the stereo basically its a xm add on and is a hide away unit so you might have to transfer the account to that if u buy the xm add on for the alpine

  2. What model is the head unit? You will likely need the XM accessory that they offer for it.

  3. you need the xm tuner and it plugs in to the radio
