i have an earthquake 600W.4 amplifier: (the second amp on this page)

http://www.earthquakesound.com/xtreme.htm

and its currently running some blaupunkt 6.5" components, and a pioneer TS-W307D2 subwoofer.

what happens is sometimes the sub loses alot of power (usually when i turn the car off, then turn it back on shortly after).

if i leave the car off for ages and then turn it back on, the sub works normally, but then if i turn the car off for a short period and then turn it back on, the sub sounds alot weaker, but im not really sure if the speakers do, so i dont know if its the amp clipping, or the sub is stuffing up.

i got it installed proffessionally, so its not the wiring/installation.

and it even happened in my old car (same sub+amp)

im not sure if the amp is overheating or clipping or if the sub is wired at 1 ohm instead of 4 ohms? please help!

  1. From what it sounds, I'm pretty sure your amp is over heating, you might want to get some air on it, like with one of those fan docks they make for laptops, if you can't get it in the open where air can blow over it.

  2. it may be that you are not getting enough power to i  i would check out capacitors for the amp it is like a rapid release battery  or you can also check your negative cable going to the amp it may not be big enough and be tripping out the amp
