My ankles hit my skates... is that normal?

Okay, well, some of you know that I bought new Riedell Bronze Medallion skates... but I was wondering if it's normal for my ankles to hurt a little when I move around. (I already got them put into an oven, so that they can "mold" onto my feet)

  1. Hi.  I I broke in Riedell Silver medallion And they made me CRY!  It's normal to feel pain from them. Infact if you don't there's something wrong with your skates!  If you take a blow dryer  And heat the inside of them till s=there so hot you can barely stand it, then put your foot in and make them real tight that helps the molding process too.  Good luck.  Once there broke in and if they still kill you try bunga pads!

  2. yep. all part of breaking them in.

you can try bunga pads too.

they are this jelly sort of thing you put around your ankles. takes the pain away and you can break in your skates faster. in fact, i wear mine every time i skate because it makes the skates more comfortable.

just buy one long sleeve and cut it in to two pieces.

it will save you some money.

  3. your new skates are just barely starting to break in. within a week,  they should be fine.

tip: take your skates off every 30 minutes or so and roll your feet around in circles. you could also rub your ankles a little bit.

when you come home, take a pair of socks and run them under water. microwave them for 30 seconds or so, then wear them for 2 minutes to relax your muscles, prevent bruising, and helps your ankles not so stiff and sore the next morning.

    good luck! hope I helped

  4. ur ankles shouldnt really move around in ur ice skate. ur ice skate should be really tight, so tht doesnt happen
