while i am snowbaording down a mountain, my ankles really start to hurt...like extremely. im a very cautious rider, so i tend do go extremely slow on toe edge the whole time. but still, even if i do speed up, it still hurts badly. i stretch before hand, and i tighten my boots and bindings as tight as possible. any suggestions????

(ps. im a dancer, so i have very strong ankles)

  1. sounds like you fell hard and pulled or sprained sumthing...take a rest for a week an ur fine. try changing your toe strap on your bindings to a tow cap from burton. they are much more comfterable and only 25 bucks. when your going slowly or stopping dont lean to ur toe edge (thats probabe why), its very hard on you, lean toward your heel edge whenever possible.

  2. it might be your boots to tight or you ride on your toes for a while

  3. Maybe they're too tight? I  never tighten my boots ALL the way.  They might bee too small, or dont fit you right.  Also, maybe you should get some socks with more padding or something that would provide you with extra ankle support.

  4. It might be the boots. But also on the lift, the board weighs the foot down to one side. Pulling on the ankles. So that could be another possibility

  5. Sounds like it could be a bad fit with the boots, or maybe you're making them too tight.  Try different boots.  Also, why are you on your toe edge the whole time?  Learn to work your heel edge as well.  Sounds like you're putting far too much constant pressure on the toe edge.  You need to balance it out so neither end gets too fatigued.  That's could be a big part of the problem.

  6. Too tight?  Try tightening different parts of your boots.  Like looser near the ankles, but still tight on your calf and your actual foot.  Maybe you just have bad fitting boots.  Try demoing different brands and lines next time you get the chance.

  7. it could be boot comfort if it starts hurting right when you start boarding  or if its later its just because there tired it happens to my calfs after 2 or 3 hours
