  1. If you have renter's insurance, all of your personal belongings can be replaced if they are damaged.

If you don't have renters insurance, you are pretty much screwed. The landlord does not have to do anything for you unless he can somehow be proved negligent or the source of the fire.

  2. Im not sure how to answer your question but I give you my moral support. It sucks when that happens but be happy nothing happened to you.

  3. Oh thats awful, sorry to hear this. if it hasn't already been done contact your closest red cross. they'll help you and your neighbors get back on your feet. If you have renters insurance then contact them as soon as possible because your stuff might have smoke damage. Just let them know what happened. your landlord will need to contact their unsruance agent before anything else can be done.

  4. If your in the states:

Call the American Red Cross, and any local Churches, food banks, Lions Club, Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce....

Many of the clubs have funds set aside for people in their community....

Chamber of Commerce may be able to direct you to local businesses that may be willing to help....

Call a local grocery store, local Wal-Mart, they may be willing to donate also....If you have access to a phone? I'd just start calling anyone I could think of..Especially the Churches. They give without blinking, most of them...I don't even go to church, and had a knock on my door many years ago, gifts of food and toys for my kids, still don't know who thought I was worthy of such a lovely gesture.....People seem to come through in times of need......Good Luck!!!!

  5. The Red Cross is probably going to help out some and the local welfare offices will definately try to do what they can. But you might want to check with your neighbors first to see if it okay that you do what you are proposing... some people are too proud to accept charity of any kind. And a bit of advice for you and your neighbors- get renter's insurance (it was a life saver for me when my apt burned down in 2000) and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg either.

  6. If their apartments, you arnt the only homeless one out there.

    Just wait and find out...

  7. write everything you lost down on a piece of paper.

wait until christmas is back , be a good girl .. mabey santa will do you a favor :

    good luck!
