instead. Is it ok to cancel the hotel reservation without notifying the embassy? I'm only getting the visa on Nov. 20, should I cancel it before or after? Will they ask about that in the port of entry? Thanks!

  1. You dont need to cancel before going for your visa, its preferable to cancel if need be only after getting your visa.

I also think that hotel reservations are not hotel payments, rather, reservations are just in cases of securing a place for fear of unforseen circumstances like being lost.

i dont also think it is a requirement at the port of entery so you just keep the reservation, get your visa and fly to wherever you are going.

when you get there, whoever is picking you at the airport will do so and take you home.

  2. I wouldn't cancel the reservation without notifying the embassy first as you may be asked at your port of entry to produce evidence of where you are staying.

It is always advisable to notify the embassy which is issuing the visa of any changes in your travel plans, failure to do so may result in delays at your port of entry.
