My apt manager is slandering my name to new tenants and existing tenants?

  2. Very hard to prove.  This is likely a he said/she said issue.  Do you have anything they've said about you in writing, and has what they've said about you caused you any verifiable losses?

    I'm not quite sure what a landlord could say to new tenants about you that would have a financial impact on you.  Simply stating you don't like someone for whatever reason is really exercising your 1st amendment right.  Now if these tenants were potential new employers, (etc) and what the landlord said to them impacted whether or not you were hired/fired, etc, then you have a different situation at hand.

    The moral is that slander cases are very hard to prove and most people don't have any real proof that slander has occurred.

  3. Maybe you should go out of that area.

  4. First ask him/her to stop.  If they don't, talk to an attorney.  You might be able to get a brief, inexpensive appointment through your county bar association referral service.
