  1. First of all... well done on buying the best fish in the world. Now I have one- a silver arowana about 15cm in a 5000 gallon poond- he has grown 5cm in one month so I think I can help. You should feed him food such as mussel, shrimp, prawn, bloodworm, nightcrawler. chicken liver, beef heart, paloni and color enhancing pellets. You should make a variety of combo meals. Feed him in the morning and in the night. Feeder fish may be fed as a treat every 2nd week. It is not that good for them. When feeding the arowana, dim the lights and switch off the room lights, feed him and stand away. Arowanas are really skittish. Make sure when he is finished feeding then look at the arowanas stomach and make sure it looks full. Do not feed them fatty foods as this will create the drop eye. Good luck. Hope he gets really big.

P.S. he need at least a 180 gallon tank. This may also be the problem. In the first few years they need as much space as possible.
