I was thinking about portraiture and use the idea of how my nephew sees the world and his relationship with my sister (his mother) and the natural instincts of mothers and their children. I haven't yet found a solid idea which I can develop so any help will be greatly appreciated. I like simple observational drawings however, they never turn out the way I want them to. Trying to avoid anything to do with using papier mache as I used it in my previous final piece and cannot stand the stuff any longer! Many thanks.

  1. If you are looking at the world through his eyes, it will no doubt be quite surreal and colourful. It's a really good idea with a lot of aspects you could experiment with.

Personally I like using acryilics best, they're bright colours, dries quickly so good if you're an impulsive painter like myself.

Just try to remember how you saw the world when you were his age, everything was so big and new and amazing, you want to be an explorer.
