My ati radeon hd 4870 graphics card will not run two monitors?

  1. You have to enable the second monitor using the ATI catylist software.  It's not automatic like the Nvidia software.  I have the HD 3870 and had to do the same thing.


  2. Go to the Control Panel and search for Display Settings and there go to Advanced Settings. In there go to the tab which says HD4870, and in there press the button which says start Catalyst or whatever and in there find the multiple monitor option. Or there may be a shortcut to it via right-clicking your desktop.

  3. Hi mine did go to start-control panel-display-settings-then click on (2) then apply. hope this helps

  4. go into the catylast control center (advanced) and enable the second monitor in the display manager Tab
