My aunt got me the same backpack my friend wanted? What do I say to my friend?

My aunt just randomly bought me a backpack for school that just happens to be the same color and style that my friend wanted for school this year. I do not want her to think that I copied her because I never even asked my aunt to buy me a backpack and now im sorta stuck with it. At first I just thought it was the same color but not the same style but then i found out it was the same style becasue I put stuff in it and it sorta puffed out and showed me all the extra room and compartments!? Help, and what should I say to her?

Just tell her that same story you just typed and it will be kind of cool to carry the same bag to school, just wait for her to buy hers. It will be kinda like a trademark for the two of you.

that you did not know that your aunt got it for you ,but if you can find out where your aunt got it you will ask your aunt to get it for her if she is willingto pay for it.

Tell her that you are not trying to copy her! It just happened that your aunt got it for you, you never asked for it! She'll be able to understand that it was just a mistake! :)

I would just tell her, "My aunt just bought me a backpack, I just realized that it's the same one that you were talking about..... it's okay, right?"

It's fine if 2 people have the same bookbags, especially if they are friends. I see a lot of girls with the same bag, it's a small world. Just tell her it was one big coincidence and laugh it off, let her know that you didn't expect that to happen!

you should tell your friend that yyou are sorry and if she is mad then there is nothing you can do.

Just let your friend know that your aunt got the backpack for you and you didn't even know you were getting it until she gave it to you. Let her know you were not trying to copy her and if it's ok with your aunt and your friends parents, why don't you two exchange backpacks. Tell your friend to get one in the colors that you like and switch. That's what good friends do.

Just tell her it was a coincidence. She'll understand; if not she's just not taking the situation maturely. Just call her up and say something like, "My aunt got me the same backpack as yours, is that okay?"
