My aunt let me borrowed her car and i got in an car accident, now dmv wants to suspend my license. what to do?

got my first car for 300$ end up dying on me, so my aunt was nice enough to let me borrow her car, but she didn't know her car have expired insurance (for like 2 weeks), and i end up getting hit by a guy on 4/1. now the dmv wants to suspend my license, what do i do? i'm really frustrated. thanks for reading.

  1. I'm afraid the onus is on you the driver, to check that the vehicle is insured, registered, and safe to use on the road, you have nobody to blame except yourself I'm afraid. I wish you all the luck and hope that they go gently on you. Have a great day!

  3. Unfortunately, it is your responsibility to check to see if the vehicle is insured before you drive it.  In view of that, I doubt there is anything you can do short of "throwing yourself at the mercy of the court".  Good luck

  4. I would talk with an attorney who specializes in traffic or defense court.They might be able to get you out of this. If you don't, you may get your license suspended and not be able to drive for quite a while.
