  1. There are 2 ways.

Use remote desktop with her ip, password, username

or email her an invitation from remote assistance. Then she just has to accept.

    dell uses their own program.

  2. I think what you are asking about is if you can do remote access over the web like the Dell Techs.

    The answer is yes.

Use a web based remote control site like Logmein.com. You set up an free account, load the free version of Logmein on her computer and then you can access and control the machine from yours.

    Good Luck

  3. Remote-Desktop won't work if she has XP Home, Vista Home Basic, or Vista Home Premium.

You CAN use Remote-Assistance but she'll have to start the session by sending a remote-assistance request.

I like using MSN Messenger (Windows Live Messenger) to set up the connection, then you can tell her to click Messenger, double-click your name, and go Actions > Request Remote Assistance (I think that's where it is, it may be under a sub-menu).  Then you'll get a pop-up on messenger to click "Accept" and it'll connect.

  4. you can use a trial version of "gotomypc.com"

  5. IN WINDOWS XP YOU CAN

SET UP A VPN over the Internet for your two computers.
