when she came to visit me. I point blank let her know that although i loved her and was happy to see her -if she comes to visit me again being as disrespectful as she was, my encounters with her will be brief. She then called my cousin playing the victim and now he's upset with me b/c she is his favorite aunt and I supposedly disrespected her by telling her she needs to respect me. He wasn't there to witness her actions yet he seems to be 100 percent sure that I'm being overly sensitive. How do I get him to back off of ME?

  1. You need to tell your cousin there are two sides to every story and quite frankly this has nothing to do with him and he should stay out of it. Tell him that your aunt should have never put him the middle of this. If she has a problem and continues to talk to you then you need to tell her to call me and resolve the issue with me not you.

Good luck because it is always easier said then done.

  2. just say 'that's between me and her'

never let someone in on a topic if you dont want to

  3. if you do not give the facts do not expect any meaningful replies...

  4. First, good for you for standing up for yourself.  No one should be disrespectful.  As adults we should try to solve our differences in mature ways and that sometimes involves being able to take criticism.  I don't know how you'll ever convince your cousin to see it your way and it probably wouldn't be worth the effort.  Sounds like he's well entrenched on her side of the issue and is not interested in hearing your side of the story.  You will most likely just have to agree to disagree.  Good luck!
