OK, so it's not my dog but she was really special to me.

She died the other day and I was at a sleepover so I didn't know. I got told yesterday that she got knocked down.

It's my aunties dog and my auntie won't talk to anybody or eat anything. Not even a snack like a banana or anything.

I'm worried about her but can't talk to her because she lives up the country.

I'm really low myself and I'm having my period.

What should I do to cheer us all up and what about my auntie?

  1. Just give your aunt a hug.  Everyone grieves in different ways, this is her's.  Give her time and space, but let her know you care about her and be there to talk when she's ready.

  2. Write your Aunt a letter or card letting her know you're thinking of her and also miss her dog and know how special the dog was to her.  Maybe you could share a little story about you and her dog that she might not know about.

You're a good niece to care about your Aunt and understand that she is grieving.  Just stay in touch with her with writing or if you can afford it, a phone call.  The best way to cheer everyone up is to show you care because everyone likes to know she's not alone when they're sad.
