they jammed the shifter back when they took it out. the next day it was really hard to put into gear. after about 5 days my transmission started acting up. it would rev up to about 5 RPM's before it would even start to move. i brought it down to a transmission place and they said i need a new transmission. i also figured out my selector switch got broken from it. i need to know if i get a new transmission do i have to fix my selector switch first or can i just put a new one in?...will it mess up my new transmission too?...i am lost on what i should do first. PLEASE help

  1. Its An Automatic tranny right?

The Transmission shop is just ripping you off, take it to a mechanic with good electronics experience and have them look at the Shifter.

The car is probably just stuck at a high gear. The worst that could be broken is a solenoid .

  2. is it a manual or a automatic??? if its a manual your clutch is bad and just happend to be a coincidence but if its and auto your sensors may have gone bad or a hyrualic pumps in the trans could have gone bad or the torque conveter could have gone bad. It most likely has nothing to do with the day your radio got solen just happend to be a coincidence.

  3. you got scrwed once and now the tranny shops trying to get you too lol

  4. No that should not if it matches up ok
