I have 3 azalea plants... 2 are doing great, nice dark green leaves, however my one is a butterfly azalea... for some reason this year the leaves are turning a chalky yellowish color and after examing them more, the undersides have brown spots. It hasn't flowered at all this year. I know they like more acidic soil so I bought some miracid to see if this would help and it hasn't... any ideas??????? How do I help it get better?

  1. Sounds like lace bug damage to me.    Usually the lack of bloom relates to bad timing with pruning, but the leaves are a seperate issue.

This site has good images.   Does it look familiar?

  2. it sounds just like lace wing.  there is a product made by fertilome called azaea, camilla and crepe myrtle spray that will get rid of that bug.  when trimming do not trim any later than august because that is when they start toset buds.

  3. cut a leaf off and take it to the local garden store. it sounds like a disease and they will know what spray you will need

  4. For diagnosis and a remedy please contact the azalea specialists--it is a free long distance number and very helpful staff--http://www.tankardnurseries.com/azaleas....

    I hope it helps.
