Anyone found guilty of carrying a knife in the UK should be made to wear an orange boiler suit and do a year cleaning out canals and picking up litter and scraping up chewing gum and receive prisoners pay. If they still live with a parent, that parent should be find £250 or be detained for 10 days for not disciplining their offspring.

  1. it wouldnt work, how would it be enforced? the police are over stretched as it is. you cant make knives illegal, the end.

  2. I dont think that would resolve it to be honest.

  3. Good idea but unfortunately, the 'do good' human rights people (who don't have to deal with violent thugs) would probably jump all over it as it breaches the human right to privacy and the prohibition of torture as well.

The right to privacy would be breached as the law abiding public would know these people were criminals and it could be seen as torturous if these people were made to do menial tasks.

Another example of how the human rights act can be twisted to suit those it wasn't designed to protect.

  4. And what if the parent doesnt know the kid has a knife? Does anyone really search their kids before they go out?

  5. I think it would work.  There are already places where parents are held responsible for the crimes of their minor children.  Certainly in civil court if someone is hurt.

  6. I do think criminals should be made to do hard labour, not just get a cozy stretch in jail! And as for fining the parents, it would work with some, but not for all. Some parents just don't give a cr*p, which is why some of the kids are like they are!!

  7. Thank God I live in America wher I have the right to bear arms! What is wrong with carrying a knife? Knives are not just weapons you know! They can be very handy as a tool as well!

  8. What if the knife is for protection?

I think it's what they do with the knife, not just carrying them around.

  9. All that for carrying a knife? Thank goodness we Yanks ran you out of our country when we did.

  10. all that for carrying a knife?

    wow.. kinda silly, no?

  11. thats ridiculous. just for carrying a shank? what should the fine be for jaywalking?

  12. huh why is it so importent that people can't carry knifes

  13. Try it!Anything is better than the suggestions coming from our political fools!

  14. What happened to justice for the individual? Should the criminal who carries the knife to facilitate a robbery face the same punishment as the kid who has never been in trouble and is carrying his mum's kitchen knife for protection after being beaten up the previous night? I am afraid that there are no easy 'fixes' to society's problems despite what the politicians and media would like us all to think. Perhaps if they woke up to reality and let us all in on it, our society might be able to repair itself a bit.

    Interesting question tho.

  15. better to drown them in the canals...

  16. yes then you can go after the people with pointy sticks and rocks.

  17. That's stupid. You need protection in the UK now. Especially Scotland, it's been known as the murder capital of Europe for over 30 years and you're more likely to be killed here than anywhere else in Europe, including Poland where they still have drive-by shootings every day. On top of that, we have the highest stab-to-kill ratio in the world. Do you think THAT is going to stop it? LOL. If people are killing people and aren't afriad of the murder charge, this isn't going to make a difference.

It has nothing to do with discipline. Parents CANNOT control their kids anymore. Society brings children up nowadays. Give me thumbs down all you want, it's the truth.

  18. they should have a tattoo on their head saying i carry a knife in case i want to stab you!!!! then i know my daughter would stay safe
