  1. In a sense, your BF is right. A 6' trailer breaks over much more quickly than a T/T.  But, with practice, they're pretty much the same.  The big difference being capacity, where the T/T pays much better.

  2. He has no idea what he's talking about.

  3. I've been driving for the last 27 yrs. I would still rather pull a 6-8 ft trailer behind the pickup. Definitely much easier, just doesn't pay as well.

  4. driving a semi truck is totally different than driving a pickup for one the semi has air brakes which are not that great in bad weather will take longer to stop than a pickup, and the semi weighs almost 40 tons and a pickup around 2 1/12 tons.so a big weight difference.and a semi truck is the largest vehicle on the road so the size is way different,so there is no comparision to a semi and pickup with a u-haul trailer..the semi truck is a totally different kind of beast..

  5. Uh, tell your b/f to get a clue.

I've been driving combination vehicles of all kinds for 20+ years.  I'm licensed to drive, literally, anything that is street legal in the U.S.  Pulling a U-Haul trailer behind a pickup is much easier than pulling a 48' or 53' trailer behind a semi tractor.
