My babies birthday...?

I have twins who are almost 8 months old. They were born on New Year's eve, Dec. 31st, of all days. My oldest was born in August and we had a slammin b-day bash for her first birthday. They will have horrible memories of their big sister having fun pool parties for her birthday and they will have their birthday on Christmas. Does anyone else have the same issue? What do you do for your child whose birthday is on this day? PLEASE HELP!

  1. I would still have a big birthday party for them as well.  They shouldn't have anything less just because they were born around the Holidays. It is there special day and nothing should take away from it.  Have it a week after the New Year and have a blast.  Pick a theme thats not holiday related, have games, eat cake, have fun.

  2. Celebrate their birth on a different day! A cousin of mine was born on Christmas Day -- so imagine what kind of treatment he got growing up.. lol..

But he eventually began to love it and it actually gave him something to brag about as he got older. What they did for him was pretty great though.. instead of Christmas day, they would pick a different day - say Jan 5 or such and call that his B-Day for that year. They'd have a party, friends over, etc and have lots of fun.

Sometimes they'd even do it before hand in the beginning of December too and have an outdoor, snowy b-day party with hot chocolate after wards.. It was always fun and always different.

You just have to use your imagination and make it exciting anyway. You could even let them chose their own birthday each year, instead of celebrating it on the same day like others do. They'll feel unique and still feel special on their chosen b-day!

    Good luck! <3
