  1. Why are people constantly asking for medical advice on infants on Yahoo? CALL THE PEDIATRICIAN.  Common sense would tell anyone if there is something wrong with your baby, you call the doctor. No one here can diagnose your problem without seeing the eyes. Jen may have a point, but what if she is wrong and by waiting longer it gets worse?

Sorry, I don't mean to be rude, but this is your baby. Take good care of it and seek the proper help it needs.

  2. Take your baby to the doctors. You don't want to guess what it could be. I had problems with both of my kids eyes when they were born and one had to have surgery. Try to keep the eye clean with warm water on a cloth. With babies you should be safe and see what the doctor says.

  3. It is very common for babies in their first year of life to have a watery tear duct.  My baby gets this every couple of months.  Because the duct is constantly watering it creates mucus in the eye.  You can take a clean finger and gently massage just below the inner corner of the eye where the tear duct is and this can help get the tear duct unblocked.  Sometimes this condition turns into a minor eye infection and you know this has happened when not only is the outside of the eye red but also the eyeball gets red.  If this happens simply get an eye/ear drop such as polysporin and apply every five hours.   Good luck!

  4. My advice to see your doctor right away before it gets worse. If your doctor can't see you soon I suggest you go to the emergency room before the swelling gets too severe.

  5. what are you waiting for? take your baby to the doctor NOW!
