My baby's a week old and peeling skin?

I put lotion on him daily but his skin lightly peels. Is this a newborn thing?

Yes, it's normal.  It will go away on its own.

Newborn skin is very sensitive.  They just lived in liquid for 9 months and it takes some time for their skin to get used to open air.  It is normal and should go away in a month or so.
