My baby's daddy Is full blood Cherokee. how do I go about getting my son his own card?

We are not together but I am due In december so I want everything taken care of before my baby gets here and my contact with the father Isn't very good.

Do you know which Cherokee tribe your baby's daddy is enrolled in?  If so, contact the enrollment department of his tribe and they'll tell you everything you need to do to get your child enrolled.  If you don't know which tribe, you're going to have to find out before you can proceed.

How do I get a Certificate of Indian Blood (CIB)?

A CIB can be obtained from the BIA (Bureau of Indian Affairs). Send your birth certificate, your Indian parents' birth certificate and if available, Indian grandparents' birth certificate (otherwise their name and birthday), to the Regional BIA office for the state where your ancestors are from. If your ancestors were on any of the census rolls the BIA may be able to provide you with information about your tribe(s) and percentage(s) of Indian blood. Neither your baby nor his father really deserve government assistance.  It makes me sick that the government still wastes millions on "reparations" payments to indians.  They don't deserve it.  They were defeated when the colonists came to America and that's that.  Indians can work for themselves and make their own money just as easily as anyone else can if they just put their minds to it.  I have friends who are part Indian who don't accept any government payments.  They moved off the reservation when they turned 18 and left home.  They got real jobs and are doing well now.  One works for Conoco in Oklahoma setting up oil sites.  Another is a banker in Kansas.
