Hi all,

Im 34+1 pregnant and yesterday i went for a scan to check baby's growth.

It turns out that her head is measuring bang on 40 weeks...so six weeks bigger than it should be. Im worrying about delivery now and whether i'll be able to deliver her normally as im only 5"2...has this happened to any of you guys and if so what was the outcome?

Many thanks

xxxx

  1. My baby was too big for my pelvis... she couldn't drop past a certain point.  I was at 9 cm for 9 hours with progress, so they  gave me a c-section.

  2. well.... I'm still pregnant but i do know my baby measures 2 weeks more on the head than on the rest of the body... the doctor told me that if the growing keeps this way, that it will definitely have to be a section, also i am 35 weeks but 36 + 3 in growing....

ask your doctor cause maybe you are able to give birth naturally (your height has nothing to do with it)... but be prepared to hear that it will definitely have to be a c section... but hey, its better that your baby suffers no trauma at all and that its an easy delivery for him.

  3. You should ask to have a c-section scheduled.  If you are so tiny, then there's no way you're gonna get such a big head out the natural way.  My sister had the same problem; she's a big woman, but her baby's head was very large as well, so she ended up having an emergency c-section.  Trust me, you don't want that to end up happening.

  4. My baby was big all over, i was in labour for 23 hours, 9cm dialated for 5 hours then had to have an emergency c-section as the doc's finally realised he wasn't gonna come out naturally. Ask about a c-section so you don't go through a similar thing as they seem to leave you a long time! Or rub almond oil and rose oil around your bits, especially the bottom, it helps your skin go stretchy. My friend did this and did not tear with a 8oz baba.

    Good luck.x
