  1. watery stool isi normal for a breastfed baby and it is also normal for them to p**p as soon as you nurse them. if anything you should avoid dairy but that's in formula- formula tend to constipate babies so they p**p lessa ftena nd it is thicker- formula is also ahrder to degest so they dont p**p as much. your baby soundds normal to me

  2. Babies have loose stool. It is beter if she has a looser stool. A "normal" stool for us would be a sign of constipation for your little one. No, babies p**p a lot. their tummies are so little, so they digest smaller amounts of food, quicker.  I imagine she is fine. Baby p**p sometimes isnt pretty either, pumpkin is a good description. Maybe you shouldnt give her formula for a while. Maybe stop eating, eggs, fish, soy, all kinds of nuts, honey, berries...these are some foods that can cause diarreah in infants. Also, she shouldnt eat these foods herslf until she is over age 1.  Also, babies that are breast fed, commonly have looser stools than formula fed babies. Your breast milk has just what she needs. However, if this keeps occuring with blood in the stool, or she is not gaining any weight, you need to see her doctor really quick. A good formula for intolerant babies is Neutramigin, or Gentlease. I however, always recommend breast feeding.

  3. The baby sounds normal but you should really be seeking advice from the professionals such as your health visitor, doctor or welfare officer.

Initially, breast-fed babies tend to stool after each feeding. This averages out to 6-8 times a day. The stool is usually quite watery and resembles diarrhea. Luckily, despite its appearance, there is no foul odor from the stool of babies who are strictly breast-fed.

It is normal for the stools of the breastfed baby to be mostly liquid, with small curds that resemble cottage cheese (some say it resembles runny egg yolks). It has very little odor. Usually the baby will have a bowel movement each time he/she nurses. It may or may not sound "explosive". These liquid stools are not diarrhea. Diarrhea in the breastfed baby is rare. A baby who has diarrhea would have stools that are very frequent, usually green and full of mucus (and/or specks of blood), and almost always foul smelling.

  5. you're confused,

    watery liquid stool is normal

well formed stool in infants is a sign they are having trouble with digestion

keep breastfeeding and stop giving her formula it will work itself out

  6. "with formula her p**p was perfectly ok."

No it wasn't - it was perfectly okay when it was "yellow in color more like a pumpkin...4-5 times a day" -- that is perfectly normal for a breastfed baby.

Ditch the formula, she only needs your milk.

"Some babies stool every time they nurse, or even more often--this is normal, too. The normal stool of a breastfed baby is yellow and loose (soft to runny) and may be seedy or curdy."

  7. Breastfed babies have looser, seedy, lighter color stools.  It's normal & no need to switch to formula.

  8. Breastfed babies generally have different-looking p**p than formula-fed babies. Watery, yellowish-orange p**p is normal. Diarrhea is pretty rare in a breastfed baby, and if she did have it, it would typically be green with a lot of mucus. And 4-5 times each day is also normal.
