My little girl was seeing a bad doctor and because of that had her on a milk based formula that she is allergic to for 5 months, how bad is it that she now has blood in her p**p? It worries me, they did a test and it came out positive for blood. Any one have this same problem?

  1. GO TO THE ER... blood in p**p is BAD for EVERYONE!!! it could be internal bleeding or anything worse... .......

  2. My daughter had alot of blood in her nappies at 3 days old.  As in you could see that the nappies were full of blood.  She had allergic colitis and so they had me stop all dairy in my diet as I was breastfeeding.  The bleeding stopped after 24 hrs but she is now very allergic to all forms of dairy.  Hopefully she'll grow out of it.

I hope that your little one feels much better very soon and they find out exactly whats causing the blleding and get it to stop.

  3. Blood in baby’s p**p

If you notice blood in your baby’s stool this may be alarming. Small streaks of blood in the stool are usually not something serious. However, if your baby has stools that look like dark red jelly or are streaked with mucous you should call your doctor right away. You should also call your doctor if your baby seems to be in pain or if your baby has persistent bleeding that does not go away.

Some other causes for blood in the stool are:

Small cuts or tears on the baby’s a**s - Sometimes babies will develop an anal fissure (tear) from straining. You may notice small streaks of blood in baby’s stool

Diaper rash - If baby has had a diaper rash that has resulted in skin breakdown, he may end up with tiny amounts of blood in his diaper.

Food sensitivities- Dairy sensitivities may cause baby to have bloody/mucousy stools.

i think maybe you should take your doctor back and have her be seen again, just to be on the safe side. if you feel you are not getting the right treatment from this doctor, then take her to the hospital

  4. When my sister Olivia was born, she had blood in her p**p.One day when my DAD changed her diper she pooped and there was blood all in her p**p.So I know how you feel.

  5. take her straight to the ER, now. blood in p**p is never good. don't waste time take her now.

  6. take her to see another doctor.she's might be sick.

  7. You might want to have them run a test for anemia...but if you correct the problem now, there shouldn't be any lasting problems.

Blood in the stool is most likely because of her allergy to milk.  If the problem resolves itself once you switch formulas, then there's nothing to worry about.

  8. Yes it happened to my son he was allergic to everything.

You need to switch him to a non allergic or hypoallergenic formula right away.

    Mine was great in NUTRAMIGEN

$24 a can!! but 3 years ago WIC covered it for a whole year.

    Good luck.

Most of this formulas are expensive, but you may not have another choice.

  9. take her to the e.r... change your doctor..and take it upon yourself to change her formula..mom knows best!

  10. It is bad anytime the baby has blood in her p**p. How bad depends on how much blood there is. If this is something new that is occuring right now, go to the Emergency Dept.

If this is an ongoing problem, find a new doctor and get her examined immediately. They may even refer her to a Pediatric GI specialist.

Whatever you decide to do, address the situation as swiftly as possible so that this does not escalate to a life-threatening situation. Good luck!

  11. please take her to the hospital. that is not normal! why are you tolerating a bad doctor. you have the right to speak up and fight for the right of proper health care for your child. turn off this computer now and take her to the hospital. NOW!!

  12. I agree with a few of the PP. it's probably that she has a cow's milk protien intolerance. That usually causes blood in the stool. I would change her formula to a hypoallergenic formula. They say that if there is a milk allergy there is most likely a soy allergy too.

  13. Make sure that he does not have hemorrhoids, it is not all that uncommon for newborns, especially if her p**p has been hard lately.  What did the Dr. say after they tested it and found there was blood?

  14. No, I do not have the problem, but bad doctors cause more problems than they cure; you understand that, I hope.  But, if you can prove that it was the wrong solution and present evidence to the Board of Physicians that it was wrong, then that Physician's license can be suspended.  That doesn't cure your problem, though.  Blood in the stool for a little girl could have more causes than allergies.  But does the doctor know that that is so?  Allergies in an infant would show in more areas than just the stool if it were something they consumed; it would be all over the body.  So be careful in how you identify the problem.

After reading the additional details, I started wondering, 'What are YOU feeding that baby?'
