Question:

My baby has had a fever for two days now.?

I have been giving her Motrin but the fever hasn't broke. I gave her a bath and now her lips are blue and her face is white. What should I do? Today is Sunday and the Doctor isn't open so if it is like this tomorrow I will take her to the Doctor. Any ideas on what I should do now? Should I be worried because she is so discolored? Help me please!!!!!!!

  1. Good Lord!  If a child looks like that YOU TAKE THEM TO THE EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT at the local hospital!  Don't wait any longer, please!


  2. Take her to the Emergency Room NOW.  If her lips are blue, that means she isn't getting enough oxygen.  She could DIE.  Go NOW.

  3. Take the child to the Emergency room now!!!!  Your kid is going to get brain damage from lack of oxygen in his brain!  

  4. Blue lips are due to a lack of oxygen in the body - take her to the ER DO NOT WAIT

  5. How high is the fever? and are there any other problems going on,such as vomiting, rash, cough, lack of appetite?

    My doctor has told me not to give my daughter any Motrin, Tylenol ect unless her fever is over 101, this is b/c the body is fighting off the infection by itself, unless of course the child is in pain. You have done the best thing by bathing her in hopes of bringing down the fever. and her lips are probably blue b/c she is cold during the bath.

    It is hard for me to give you advice not knowing what all is going on, but from mother to mother....if you are really concerned for your child's health take her to the ER and if you feel it is not an emergency then continue to try and bring down her fever, make sure she drinks plenty of fluid and call your doctor first thing in the morning.
