  1. Aveeno baby CREAM works really well.  Only bathe baby once or twice a week.

  2. for babies with sensitive skin you have to use fragrance free and sensitive skin products.

the doctor recommended Curel Fragrance Free lotion and Unscented Dove body wash.  he also recommended fragrance and dye free detergent like ALL Free & Clear.

many baby products are scented including the shea butter.  it has a kind of strong smell to it.  i used to use that on my son.

  3. If you are living in a dry climate, you might benefit from a humidifier.  During the winter in our area, we really needed it for the baby and ourselves.

  4. My baby had real sensitive skin.  She had eczema and would also break out if just about anything that wasn't washed in Dreft touched her skin.  I tried everything - even the Balmex and baby oil but nothing seemed to work.  My dr prescribed this oil called Dermasmooth.  It is awesome! I applied 2x a day and her dry skin cleared right up.  Now I use it just after her bath.  Because her skin was so dry when she was first born like your baby my dr said only 2 baths a week. Talk to your dr about getting some of the Dermasmooth oil.  It really made a difference for us.

    Good luck!

  5. Here are a few things that work for me.

If your baby’s skin is really dry, up her fluid intake. Babies,

as well as adults, get moisture from inside the body. When baby has dry patches, rub some mild hydrocortisone cream on

the spot, or ask your doctor for some medication to help these

patches go away. Add moisture in your baby’s room with a humidifier. This will put moisture in the air and help hydrate your baby’s skin.

Cut down on the soap. If baby’s skin is dry, using a bubble

bath can make it worse. Only use soap on the body parts that

need it, i.e. the diaper area. Also, use a gentle soap. Put lotion on within a couple minutes of your baby getting out of the bath. Because she was just in warm water, your baby’s pores are open and will absorb more moisture. I have noticed that when I put lotion on right away, my baby’s skin just eats it up. If you add a little more lotion to her skin at this point, your baby’s skin will stay moist all day long.

  6. What type of lotion do you use? Also your baby may have eczema take your baby to dermotologist.

  7. i used to use Johnson Baby Lotion..the lavender is really nice and works well

  8. Use Aveeno baby lotion

  9. try switching brands if u havent already on both the lotion and the baby wash u use at bath time.  i've heard good things about Mustela and Aveno Baby.  Aveno Baby worked well for me and my kids.

also sometimes to many baths can dry out ur babies skin, say for instance u bath her once every day, try going every other day for a few days.  or if u take baby swimming that may also be the culprit.

  10. Try using a lotion that doesn't contain petroleum byproducts such as mineral oil. They can irritate skin. Arbonne makes a baby care line with really good lotion, diaper rash cream, sunscreen, etc. Aveeno is also good. Look for natural products without fragrances and oils. Good luck!

  11. use frangrence free, hypoallergenic product, arbonne make wonderful products but they are expensive

  12. I dont know how old your baby is but if you give them too many baths it will dry their skin out.  My daughter is 5 months and I only give her a bath every other day right now and then I put lotion on right after her bath.  May I suggest  Johnson and Johnson head to toe it works great!
