  1. Don't stress out too soon. We have been having this same problem with our son. The dr says they can go 3-5 days with a bowel movement. You can always try giving him 1/2 baby apple juice and 1/2 water, or just water 2-3 oz a day is safe. You can also try giving him a Glycerine suppositories they are 100% safe for babies. I would break it in 1/2 though, don't give him the whole one. Glycerine is made from sugar so this is not even a drug.

    Good Luck

  2. Sounds like your baby is constipated. Why did they change his formula and if you were breast feeding why did you change?  Breast feeding the best thing you can do for your child.

Have you tried one of thoses glycerin baby suppository in the r****m.

If no results, call his Peditrician.

  3. My youngest child is now 7 months old, but at about a month old he started going like 6-7 days between BM's. The doctor said it was normal to go about 5 days, and I was breastfeeding. I called the doctor in panic on the 7th day, when he called back, he wasn't very concerned. Told be to give him diluted apple or pear juice. I did the apple juice and it did its job. I would say just try some apple juice, that should get things moving.

  4. It is completely normal for a newborn to go up to a week without a BM, but if you are concerned about it, give him 2-4 ounces of water mixed with 1 tablespoon of dark Karo syrup and he should go within the next 24 hours. After that, give him a couple of ounces of just water every day to keep him regular.

  5. my pediatrician told me a newborn can go about 5 days without pooping. its normal but you should call your dr just to make sure. i thought mine was constipated and did all the warm water bulb at rim of b******e and it didnt work. so i found out it was normal.
