I will mix her formula with whole milk and she'll drink it that way but not whole milk by itself. I am tired of buying formula and its getting too expensive. what do you suggest I do?

  1. You can try rice milk, almond milk, or even goat milk.  Goat milk is supposed to be the closest to human milk.

  2. Had the same problem with my daughter around the same age.  The ped said to try yogurt without fruit chunks in it.  I also put strawberry nesquick (negligible amount) in her milk.  She liked both, but would only drink the milk from a "Big Girl Cup" that she had picked out from the store.  She'll get used to it.  The ped told me that my DD didn't like milk because it was a strange consistency and even to try mixing a little plain yogurt in with the milk to make it creamier.  (I didn't try it.  Sounded disgusting!)  Good Luck.

  3. When I was a baby I was that age I wouldn't drink milk or soy milk either so my mom ended up making a formula from stratch. I'm not sure what it had in it but it was really good!

  4. Continue to mix formula with the milk but each week put less and less in it until it is all milk. It worked for me!

  5. Ok people will hate me for this but...I used to put strawberry nesquick in my sons milk (now 4yrs) it was the only way he would drink it, I began decreasing the nesquick gradually until he was just drinking plain milk and has done now ever since.

So you can do this if you want, just put a little less in over a period of time and eventually he will be drinking plain milk. Don't rush it though or he will suss you out.

  6. Is your baby old enough to eat yogurt?  If so, try yogurt, it is plenty healthy.  If that doesn't work, try buying a cheaper formula or a different milk.

  7. My son was fed thru G- tube till he was 2.He would not drink whole milk either, skim milk is the same really as whole milk.Just make sure u give him yogurt and cheese. My son still drinks skim milk and loves it, and he is the weight that he needs to be also .Hope this helps :)
