  1. "Permanent eye color is not set until a baby is at least nine months old, so wait until your child's first birthday to determine what color they will be."

Typically the brown eye color trumps all other color - however there are instances where that's not the case.  Both my cousin and her husband have brown eyes and a Grandmother with blue - their baby has beautiful blue eyes and she's just a year and a half.

  2. i had a teacher once who told me that most babies are born with blue eyes and they changed colour as they got older. it must be possible, although i'll admit i'm kinda skeptical too.

  3. 23 weeks old? His eyes can still turn.  My son's father and I both have black hair and dark eyes...my son has light hair and beautiful blue eyes. It could be that your son will have blue eyes. I kept waiting for my son's eyes to turn brown but it never happend.

  4. Their eyes can change up to the age of three....you also need blue eyes on both sides...so if your Mother or Dad had them there'd be more chance.

  5. It's possible that your baby has inherited some genes from his grand parents.  Certain genetics get passed down through the generations so It's very likely that his eyes will stay blue.

  6. no they will change again by the time he is 1year and will stay that colour

  7. You cant really tell. I started off with really light blonde hair and bright blue eyes and now my eyes are slightly green and my hair is a dark brown. My dad has blue eyes and my mum has green eyes and they both have brown hair.

  8. My son's eyes stayed light blue (he's now 18 months) but they can change at any point up to 1 year old.  I agree with you that if they are that light they will probably stay.

  9. I never used to believe eyes would change colour until it happened to my son, he was born with light blue eyes but one day when he was a few weeks old i noiced a dark patch in the blue, i was a bit worried to begin with and decided to keep an eye on it, over the next weeks and months the patch grew and turned brown, by the time he was 6 months a quarter of the eye was solid brown where the rest was blue, he's now 4 and roughly half that eye is now brown but finally seems to have stopped changing.

My own eyes were blue when i was young but in the last few years they've started changing and now have light brown hints to them, very strange as i'm 27.

Because there is blue eyes in the family it is possible that your little ones eyes wont change. A similar thing can happen with hair colour- mychildren are blonde but both their father and i have brown hair, other family members are blonde though. It's all about genetics.

  10. My daughters had beautiful green eyes after the end of fall (they were born in the summer) they went dark brown =[ But you never know I guess only time can tell, my 5 year old nephew has blue eyes and everyone else has brown or hazel eyes so there is chance

I guess I cant tell you I would think they would change only because it happened to me but for you it might be different it was for my brothers son.

  11. Babies' eyes usually won't change to their full colour until a year old. Many babies who are born with black/dark brown eyes end up with a very drastic change. Usually a child with light blues/greens/greys at birth will have either that colour (roughly) or a darker one. Sometimes a child's eyes will not stop changing colour until two years old, although this is not very normal.

    Hope I helped.

  12. My guess is that they will probably stay blue, but you would need to have someone in your line that has blue eyes too.  If you both have relatives with blue eyes, then you may both carry the recessive gene for blue eyes.  This is the only way that your baby can have blue eyes.  Most people say that if the baby still has blue eyes at 6 months, then it is likely that they will stay blue.

  13. Both my kids were born with blue eyes and they have stayed that way. Since he is that old now they will probably stay blue.

  14. Since you both have brown eyes, there is a 25% chance that your baby's eyes will stay blue.

A friend of mine fell into that 25%!  Him and his wife have brown eyes, but their baby has blue.
