My baby is 8 months old and now im unsure of her baby name?

Hello i have a baby girl of 8 months and now im not sure of the name i gave her, she is called amber but she does not suit this name, i want to change but after hours and hours looking i still dont know!!! if you click on the link there is a picture of her and then maybe you could give me some ideas. she is a lovely baby and i want a name that means something and suits her. i like names that end in "Y" or anna, but still open to other names. its doing my head please help! lol

I think she looks like an Amber. She is very beautiful and so is her name.

Anna is nice too, but I do like Amber a bit more. I guess if you are going to change it, it should be to something that at least  has a similar sound so it doesn't confuse her so much. (And I think it will, 8 months is pretty old to be changing her name)

I would just use a nickname.

Well you should of thought about this before she was born!! What every time you get tired of a name, you will just change it? Poor kid!

She looks like a cerys, this is welsh for love, maybe marina as her middle name, cerys marina tralnslates into love of the ocean! Hope this helps! x

cute cute baby!!....    I think AMBER is just fine.. she deff will grow into her name plus she's radiant and has a glow... let her be what she was meant to be named.... and remember the name wont make what she is or will be.

she is beautiful...Amber is a lovely name...but Anna is a strong name, so i would prefer that for my baby.  you can change it by deed poll...but make sure you are sure!!

She is adorable!!!  I guess i like more trendy names like: Olivia, Sophia, Riley, Jensen, Kennedy or maybe Kendra, Mckenzie, or Madison. I know alot of those names don't end with "Y" but those are the names I think of when I see a cute face like hers.  Good luck, i know how hard it is to name them.

I think that she just might grow into Amber if you let her. It's a good name with a bright/beautiful personality (just like she looks!)...

Maybe what you need is a good nickname - It can be a name completely unconnected to her names if that is what you chose :-)

The name Amber suits her, I definitely wouldn't change it. Apart from anything else, she'll be used to the sound of her own name by now! And it's a very pretty name.

OMG she is soooooooooo cute. she really reminds me of my daughter, now aged 13, as a baby.

her name is Tegan-rose, which i love.

Emily is a nice name too.

having said that, amber is a beautiful name and she will grow into it. why not make it double barreled with something, then as she grows you can choose between em.

Beautiful.  But at 8 months, she knows her name, at least if you change it do it as soon as possible.  Anna and Amber sound sort of similar, so she might adjust to Anna easily.  Amber is a nice name, maybe give her a nickname.

I'm glad you've decided to stick with Amber.  Clearly you felt strongly enough about the name to go with it in the first place, so try to remember the way you originally felt about it.  It IS your daughter's name, you definitely should not change it.

Don't listen to the people that say you can't change her name. You can. I named my little girl Megan and then a couple months later called her Madeline.

It's a really important decision and your want to make sure you are happy with the name so it doesn't bug you like forever. Good luck.

She is a human being, not a pet. You can't just change her name on a whim. Stick with the name you originally gave her and let her make her own choice to change it, IF she wants to, when she is old enough (over 18).

Amber is such a nice name, but if you think she doesn't suit it, trust me, she will grow into it. No one is suited to a specific name, but names grow on people. I would say keep Amber, because she will "grow into" an Amber.

I think, first of all, she's a beautiful little girl... and Amber is a beautiful name. You should keep it - she probably knows and responds to it by 8 months old so why confuse her? If anything, give her a nickname that you feel comfortable with.

You will only be able to change her name legally by deed poll.

Her birth certificate will still show her birth name.

You would have to explain this to her when she is older.
