Hey guys, i was hoping someone went through the same situation. My baby girl was born here ( so she is a US citisen), my husband and i are russian citizens with greencards. I need to go back home to Russia ergently to see my father who is very sick. Russian consulate and american ins are telling me different things, so i was hoping someone who was in the same situation can tell me how this works. Thanks a million!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. You shouldn't have a problem if you have her passport and birth certificates along with your identification.  However, when we traveled (my mother is German citizen an we're American) it was pre-9/11.

  2. With an American passport and birth certificate your Baby will be safe BUT, YOU might have trouble, not going in but coming out again. and the safety of your whole family might be in jeopardy. I know you want to go and see your Father but you MUST consider your family first. My father died and I couldn't be there for him either, but it was MY decision to move west, he did not want to come, even for a visit, I knew what I was leaving behind, and you do too. It will be hard for you to do. but the deed is done, you live in America now and knew you'd have this to face one day. personally I would not take the chance of having my family separated. I hope this helps you decide.
