  1. Wether you have insurance for her or not she needs to go to the hospital. There is a case of Pertussis going around (whooping cough) and that could possibly be what she has if she is coughing so much that she is throwing up.If she has coughed so much to where she could not catch her breath and/or has passed out then its a definite sign of pertussis.

Don't even bother with the cough syrup and just go to the hospital emergency room and have her checked out. Tell them whats going on and they will most likely see her immediately due to the case of it going around and it is very contagious. Some insurances go back a month or two when you finally are able to use it so when she gets approved I would call and ask about it,but none the less get her to the ER and have her looked over.

  2. who cares if you don't have medical insurance.. she still needs to see a dr!!! Do not put your childs health at risk!

  3. My poor little baby has whooping cough.  Just got the test results yesterday.  I knew it.  I can tell I have it too.  Not sure where we picked it up, but we've got it.  He was coughing and was choking in his coughs.  It was hard for him to catch his breath.  He threw up a couple of times during them.  He is still having them but they aren't as bad as they were.  If your daughter has it then she will need an antibiotic, so you should get her to a doctor.  Unfortunately the antibiotic treats the illness but does not get rid of the symptoms.  So the bacteria will be killed but the cough will remain.  Whooping cough can last for 3 moths.  Maybe you can apply for free care or something like that.

  4. If you don't have medical til September just sit there with a sick baby and hope she gets better.

Take her to the hospital, my goodness.

  5. Whether you have insurance for her or not should not even be a consideration.  She needs to see a doctor if you are very worried.

  6. ok first off if your baby is sick the last thing you need to be worrying about is insurance because all major hospitals will accept your baby without insurance..you will get a bill but who cares if your baby is sick there is plenty of help out there later down the road when its time for you to pay that medical expense.

check for your local health department they accept women and children without insurance at no cost to you..

when a child is that young and sick it need proffesional attention especially if the child is running a fever.or dehydrated..make sure she is drinking plenty of liquids such as water or pedelite even if she cant keep it down for long..

  7. seek medical attention for her at your local health dept. or county hospital.

  8. when my baby had a cough and colds, the doctor didnt give anything.. the doctor just said, make her drink lots of fluids..

  9. Make sure she gets enough liquids! When kids throw up they will become dehydrated almost right away. Are you sure you can get children's Tylenol? Walmart should have it! If she seems to be in pain then you need to take her to the ER, if she is just going through a bug then make sure you take her temp and if it's above 100.5 then you absolutely need to take her in. Make sure she's breathing fine and keep her warm.

You know, you can call a local clinic or even the ER (Google the number) and ask them what you can do about it. Phone advice is free!

  10. sacrifice n take her to the emergency room

  11. Well, how long has it been going on? If she is unresponsive or seems very dehydrated, it doesnt matter if you have medical insurance or not- it would be a felony to not take her in.

Since I doubt that is the case, and she has just been throwing up today or yesterday, you wouldnt want to take her in even if you did have insurance. Try to give her little sips of apple juice or pedialite. A teaspoon every 10 minutes for an hour, then a little more and so on. After 5 hours or so, you could try some dry toast or a banana.

The cough is not nearly as concerning- assuming she is not gasping for breath. She may have even just been coughing so hard she threw up. If you have a vaporizer, use it. If not, take her in the bathroom and get it steamy by turning on the hot shower (she isnt in the water) .  It really helps to put her head elevated, so put a pillow under her  mattress.

If she is coughing constantly, (cant get a word in edgewise) you need to take her in. THat happened to my little boy and it turned out it was an asthma like attack.

Try to get some sleep- she is likely to be up throughout the night!

Oh- if she has a fever that wont come down with tylenol or advil and it is above 104 you need to bring her in tothe doctor too. Sorry.

The doctor cant do anything if it is a cold or just a mild stomach upset anyway. So, dont feel guilty. I have insurance and dont take my kids in- it is long, costs me between 15-50 dollars and usually ends with nothing being done- kids get sick, and then they get better!

  12. Does she have a viral infection? If so it will have to go away on its own, and the doctors and FDA does not approve cough medicine for children under 2  anymore (I have a 22 month old). If she has a viral infection give her the BRAT diet- that's Bananas, Rice, Apples or Applesauce or Toast- those are foods that my pedi recommends. She will keep those down-NO MILK- she will vomit more if you give her milk. If it gets worse take her to the ER, ok. Good luck !
