  1. She probably could if she wanted to but why not just pump your milk?

  2. I wouldnt try it, She needs to use hers for her baby. Too many women report not having enough. Breast feeding can be hard and time consuming for alot. You have to think of her stress level new baby and breast feeding two.

Why dont you try pumping? I would go on to say babies are more than fine with formula. And have been for Many years.

  3. It is possible. Women in other cultures do it all the time. :) And since you're going back to work, it's great that your baby would have a source of (safe) breast milk. That would be a better setup over formula hands-down. Her supply will adjust accordingly.

There's nothing wrong with it at all. Americans are just weird about their ideas of breast-feeding.

    Give it a shot. :)

Your sister's supply is still adjusting, so now would be the perfect time to try it. She should have no trouble making enough.

  4. If you are both willing, there is no biological or nutrtional reason why she could not.  It is possible, of course, that your baby wouldn't want to breastfed on another mom. But if baby will do so, and all are happy with the option, go for it.

  5. I wouldn't try that... even if it is biologically possible because brestfeeding is the main bonding between mother and baby

  6. Get a breast pump. You can pump the milk before you go to work, so there's always breast milk available.

  7. It is possible, but there are some things to consider. First of all, get ready for controversy. If you tell people this is what you are doing, you will most definitely meet some critics. Next, your baby is old enough to know who his/her mommy is. He/she may refuse to nurse from your sister. Also, do you know everything your sister is eating/drinking? Just know that everything she puts into her body is going to go into your baby's. And, if you don't nurse your baby all day or pump, then your supply will diminish. If you're gonna pump, you might as well give the milk to your baby during the day in a bottle. I would probably talk to your baby's doctor before making a final decision. Hope everything works out.

  8. Have you considered pumping your breast milk then giving the bottles to your sister so that she can feed her your milk?

  9. In the old days, before formula and the like, wealthier women often hired wetnurses to feed their babies.

If your sister is comfortable with the idea, then there should be no problem.  If she has any contagious health issues, however, your baby would naturally be at risk to catch them.

  10. yeah. there was an article about a lady that breastfed babies i think in china? after the earthquake... Its safe.

  11. If you and your sister are both comfortable with the idea of doing it..then do it..its becoming a trend lately..heck mothers even pay other woman to nurse their babies for them when they cannot..I personally would never do it..but if thats what you and your sister want to do..theres nothing wrong with it.

  12. As long as you both are in agreement with it. The bonding with a sister could be the next best thing to you. And when the baby is with you are you going to breastfeed or can you work something out with her? You could also supplement with formula. I am sure this has happened before, I would call a doctor just to be certain.
