  1. You can try adding Carnation Instant Breakfast to amp up the calories (if your baby needs it) and flavor the milk.  Chocolate or strawberry mix-in (like Nestle) also works.  We did this for a short time to help transition from breastmilk to cow's milk.  We did it as a last resort as we were having a hard time weaning and my daughter was losing weight.  Just try to wean the baby off the sweetener so she will eventually drink plain milk.  I wouldn't do juice personally just because it sounds gross - but if your daughter likes it go ahead (as long as it's not orange juice-- that would sour the milk).  Just don't give so much juice that she gets diarrhea.

  2. My daughter was that way.  When she turned one, she would not drink whole milk at all.  I started mixing it half and half with her usual formula and then slowly over the next few weeks took out the formula and now she drinks it fine.  One reason I found that she didn't want it was that she was used to getting her "milk" in her bottle up until she turned 1 year and then we were taking her off the bottle and formula at the same time.  So, I started to only give her the mixture mentioned up in sippy cups and then she was ok with it.  She still doesn't drink alot of it, but her doctor says she doesn't need more than 24 oz. of  milk a day as milk takes the iron out of the food.

  3. Mixing milk and juice is gross.  Shouldn't your baby be on 2% milk since whole milk has much fat in it?

  4. Mixing the two isn't risky, it will just get her used to sweetened milk.  When I was young my best friend's mom put peach syrup in milk to get my friend to drink milk.  I wasn't aware the milk was doctored and almost spit it out.

If your daughter doesn't like whole milk have you tried 2% milk?  It could be the fat content.

  5. how old os your baby?

  6. Maybe the reason your baby's having a hard time with milk is because the milk gives her stomaches or something. She may be lactose intolerant. You should probably speak with your doctor about it and see if switching her to soy milk or skim milk could help. Soy milk will probably be best if she's intolerant. Good luck!

  7. how about SOY milk like Silk? Well check with your doctor first though

  8. i think it will taste nasty if you mix milk with juice, just keep trying with the milk. I'm in the same position with my son not liking whole milk but i just keep offering it to him and he is getting use to the taste of it. good luck

  9. I had the same problem with my baby and I would mix formula with the whole milk and every week i would put less and less formula then soon she was drinking pure milk.  Try it, it worked for me!

  10. my daughter is one also, and we are going through a hard time with milk also, but i would never mix juice with it, because then she may become accustomed to the sweetness, and not like different flavors and textures, also , many baby experts say that it takes 100 times of tasting something before a baby may like or dislike something.
