  1. I would stop going in there to put it back in his mouth. The first few nights may be miserable but it will get better.

  2. thats a good idea tracy ill keep that in mind myself

but i would by glow in the dark ones for a while

  3. my sister put glow in the dark nail polish on the outside of his pacifier, that way at night she can find it, eventually her son learned to find the glow and popped it back in his mouth, other than that you could always just go back in and pop it back in his mouth, eventually he'll sleep through the night and you wont have to do that. Just give it time.

  4. My daughter just  turned 1.  I got tired of getting up just  to get it for her so I started putting 3 or 4 of them in the crib with her when I put her to bed.  That way she can usually find one on her own.  It always falls out of her mouth when she falls asleep anyway, so I know she's not using it all night.

    Best of luck!  :)

  5. I did the same as Tracey - just ended up putting about 3 in there so he could find them himself, the problem i ended up with though was that he became really addicted to them and could never just have one... I think when he was about 2 we just stopped buying them and said when they were all goen they were gone -  luckily he was ok with that.

The problem you have is that he associates the dummy with going to sleep which is why when he wakes he needs it to go back to sleep, he needs to learn to self soothe himself - which unfortunalty i think will involve crying !!

You could try giving his dummy to him before he goes to sleep and then taking it before he is asleep fully so he gets used to going to sleep with out it ...

    Good Luck
