My baby monitor had another child crying on it at 12:30am. How could this be?

I find this unsettling. There are no other babies in the near vicinity that I know of. The crying went on for quite some time and I finally turned off the monitor because I was so disturbed. What could this be? The last time this happened, it was about a year ago...durning the day. It was eerie. I thought maybe it was a crossed frequency or the monitor was low on batteries. I haven't heard this 'phantom cry' for over 8 months...until last night. If this is a crossed frequency, then why don't I hear this 'phantom cry' all the time? What could this be?

Crossed signals...it happens to my cousin sometimes. Although it does not happen all the time to her either, I assume both monitors would have to be in just the right place for their signals to cross.

That is creepy, but my parents used to mess with the neighbors by tapping into their frequency and saying to go check your child... mean i know

some one on your street might have the same monitors on the same frequency try changing the frequency on you monitors this should help!

That had happened to us and it was a crossed frequency, but I didn't hear it all the time. The frequency doesn't cross all the time. With us, it was usually when it was rainy? I'm not sure if that actually had anything to do with it or not, but it seemed like it.

it prob is a cross in signals it may be the where it is positioned or which way the antenna is pointed

well m eand my friend had one of them and we heard like this persons whole conversation i would say just occassionally the frequencies get crossed it could be something supernatural or it could just be the amazing workings of an electronic device

i think there was someone else on the monitor and i have had a similar thing happen to me but i was on the phone.thats why i dont let my kids play with phones  that are not plugged in.

thats freaky.  i heard that those monitors pick up on freaky things. like the lady who witnessed nasa landing something in outer space on her monitor cam.

Monitors have a A/B Channel switch if you put the switch to B your less likely to get this interference. Pretty much all monitors run on the same radio frequency, You can buy more expensive ones that don't do this.  I used to here my neighbors next door argue,HA HA

my monitors were constantly picking up other babies so I quit using them...

Either your home is haunted or you are picking up a monitor that  has a higher range than yours.

Are you trying to summize that your house is haunted? I would go with the baby frequency of the monitor. Maybe some one was watching their grandchild in the neighborhood or some thing and thats why they dont use a baby monitor all the time? Its probably the signal... unless other spooky things happen. Then I would get your house cleansed.
