My baby put on 680 grams a week the last two weeks in a row - average is 150 grams???

Question

I was prescribed steroids for an extreme allergic reaction - three days six pills then one pill per day after that (a low dose, can't remember what). So is that why the baby grew so very much? He broke the midwife's 20 year working record for a month old's weight gain...

probably your steroids are passing through you to your baby!!! That's probably why!

Make sure you check him again... make sure there's nothing else going on with him...

Mine was similiar.  Wasn't on steroids though.  In about 10 days he put on about 1200g when breastfed.  Doesn't sound as though the midwife is worried though so you shouldn't be either.  Try giving her a call to put your mind at ease.  The weight gain will slow down too though as he gets older.
